The Beginning
Tradesman and fashion designer are jobs at opposite ends of the spectrum.Perth-based creative Jackson Macleod has both under his belt.
After spending 12 years in the construction industry Macleod realised he had more to offer in the creative fields and made the bold decision to launch a luxury accessories brand TYPE1.0
“Building from nothing has become ingrained in me for as long as I can remember. I craved another avenue to expressing my taste and telling stories without boundaries,” he told TODAY.
“The freedom to curate a style inspired by music, film, art, and pop culture, with eye-catching visuals, led to the birth of TYPE1.0. There’s something about the freedom to be able to go where ever you want with fashion that I find so appealing.”
Much like many other emerging designers, Macleod is an active participant in establishing the fashion industry’s new ‘normal’.
From unisex designer eyewear to versatile gender-neutral and cruelty-free bags, Macleod has prioritised the aspects that matter to this generation’s fashion-forward consumer; ethics, sustainability and gender fluidity..
