Polyurethanes were invented back in the 1930s by Professor Dr. Otto Bayer (1902-1982). There are various types of polyurethanes, all of which can look and feel completely different. They are used in many forms spreading from the souls of shoes to adhesives, thermal insulators and yep... bags.
Polyurethanes are formed by reacting a polyol with a diisocyanate or a polymeric isocyanate in the presence of suitable catalysts and additives.
PU leather is made from high-quality polyurethane making it much more affordable then leather made from animal by products.
Polyurethanesis used by coating fabrics such as cotton or polyester. this process gives the fabrics a protective coating that will extend their life but make them more durable.
Polyurethanes also give their foundation material a glossy and sleek finish. perfectly mimicking real leather, without harming any animals but creating a better, stronger and longer lasting product.
